Ex-stripper goes back to clubs to help women through faith in Jesus

Ex-stripper goes back to strip clubs to help women find Jesus

Hannah Hirsh’s Transformation Journey

Hannah Hirsh, who spent five years as a stripper, reflects on her past after experiencing a life-changing encounter with Jesus. She now feels a sense of peace and aims to help others avoid the challenges she faced in the sex industry.

“During those five years, I witnessed a lot of darkness. Addiction was everywhere. I got caught up in it myself, and it was just… you see the drugs, the alcohol, even trafficking,” she explained. Hirsh shared her insights, emphasizing that women often think they can just make quick money at clubs without realizing the immense darkness that accompanies that lifestyle.

“Those who think it’s easy and glamorous might not see the emptiness that often lies beneath. You compromise your morals just for money,” she continued.

Shifting Perspectives

Reflecting on her choice to strip, Hirsh noted, “The temptation came from the lure of quick money. Society glamorizes this lifestyle, portraying it as something appealing, but that’s far from the truth.” For those who have lived it, the reality is quite different. “Deep down, you know you’re not truly happy,” she mentioned.

The turning point in Hirsh’s life occurred when the pandemic led to the shutdown of clubs in her area. This unexpected break from the industry allowed her to engage with God on a deeper level, which she describes as an awakening that pulled her away from that work.

“People view this fast-paced lifestyle as something luxurious, but the truth is, it’s about finding purpose in Jesus. The real goal is eternal life, not money. True wealth comes from God,” she shared.

She also noted that many women in the industry often turn to substances to cope with their daily struggles. “Most of the women I encountered were using drugs and drinking every day just to numb the pain of their circumstances,” Hirsh added.

Helping Others

She revealed, “There’s a constant sense of degradation. It doesn’t empower you; it belittles you. The money you may walk away with vanishes just as quickly as it comes.” Hirsh approaches her visits to strip clubs with a mission— to spread hope. “I feel like these women need God, and I go in there to share what He’s put on my heart.” She believes that while she can plant the seeds, it’s ultimately God who grows them.

After reconnecting with her faith, Hirsh started her own ministry called “Kept by Grace.” She actively visits strip clubs to assist women in finding their way out of the sex industry.

Addressing misconceptions, she stated, “For Christians who think strippers can’t be saved, they might not truly understand God’s love. Jesus reached out to those deemed unworthy. No one is beyond redemption. No matter their past, God can save anyone,” Hirsh concluded.
