Ex-teacher's aide receives heavy prison sentence for sexually abusing four boys: 'Justice was served'

Former Teacher’s Aide Sentenced for Child Sex Crimes

A 34-year-old former teacher’s aide in Wisconsin has received a lengthy prison sentence for sexually abusing four boys. The Kenosha County District Attorney announced that Judge David Hughes handed down a sentence of 51 and a half years, along with an additional 32 years of supervision after release. This means Anna Marie Crocker, a mother of four, won’t be eligible for release until she is around 85 years old.

In December, Crocker entered guilty pleas to multiple charges, including first-degree sexual assault of a child, sexual exploitation through filming, second-degree sexual assault, and using a computer for child sex crimes. Prior to her sentencing, she stated that she took “full responsibility for what happened,” expressing deep sorrow for the pain and trauma inflicted on her victims.

Judge Hughes commented during the sentencing that “her betrayal of trust” and attempts to intimidate her victims only worsened the harm done. Kenosha County Deputy District Attorney Rosa Delgado emphasized that justice was served for the four children Crocker abused and groomed.

District Attorney Xavier Solis described the situation as a severe betrayal, highlighting the lasting damage caused when trusted adults exploit children. The investigation began when the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department looked into allegations of sexual misconduct at Riverview Elementary School, where Crocker was working as an aide.

Details in the criminal complaint revealed that Crocker assaulted a 12-year-old victim by removing his pants and forcing him into sexual acts, despite his protests. This victim later recounted feeling scared and traumatized, illustrating the gravity of the crimes.

Another victim mentioned receiving inappropriate materials from Crocker, while a third described engaging in sexual chats and exchanges with her. Law enforcement found explicit conversations between Crocker and a 16-year-old boy. The pattern of abuse extended to multiple victims, some of whom were reluctant to report their experiences due to fear.

Following the discovery of these acts, Crocker was arrested on October 11, 2024, and was subsequently fired by the school board just a few days later. The enduring consequences of her actions continue to impact the lives of those involved.
