Gabriel Linehan, a former Team USA figure skater, was reportedly shot and killed by a man with a long criminal history while in a Starbucks drive-thru in St. Louis, Missouri, on Tuesday.
According to reports, around 10 a.m., a man fired at a 28-year-old woman, stealing her bank card and driver’s license afterward.
The following day, 58-year-old Keith Ramon Brown was apprehended. He has a criminal record dating back to 1986, including felony convictions.
Court documents indicated that Brown was wanted for two armed robberies occurring shortly before the murder of Linehan.
After being arrested in connection with the case, Brown faced multiple charges, including first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree robbery, and four counts of armed criminal action, along with one count of unlawful possession of a firearm linked to the recent robberies.
Linehan worked as a coach at the Metro Edge Figure Skating Club. The club shared a tribute on Facebook, highlighting her as a cherished skater, coach, and mentor whose positive impact extended far beyond the ice. They described her as a dedicated leader who instilled values of discipline and teamwork in her skaters.
The club further expressed that this sudden loss was profoundly heartbreaking for the athletes, staff, and the broader skating community. They emphasized their focus on supporting Linehan’s family and ensuring that their skaters receive the necessary care during this challenging time.
