Ex-UFC fighter Darren Till gets into post-match brawl following boxing debut

Former UFC fighter Darren Till’s boxing debut was marred by a post-fight brawl on Saturday night, but he still managed to pick up the first victory of his new career by technical knockout.

Till was scheduled to fight Mohammed Muthi in a four-round bout at Social Knockout 3 in Dubai when, as Till and Muthi were trading punches in the second round, the British fighter struck Muthi in the back of the head.

The referee paused the bout, then stopped it, with the promoter saying Till “didn’t want to continue” and was awarded the victory by TKO. Mixed Martial Arts.

As the bell rang, Muti went to fight, catching the subjugated Till with a kick, and a brawl ensued with officials from both camps trying to free the two fighters.

“It’s a fight, you’re going to get hit,” Till said after the fight, via MMA Fighting. “If you’re not going to keep fighting, then don’t be a fighter. He’s not a fighter. He’s not a real fighter. He’s a coward. And then when I’m minding my own business, he comes in and attacks me.”

“I’m really sorry. I’m not that kind of guy. I’m a polite guy. I love this sport. I love Dubai. I’ve been here since 2016 and I want to apologise, but I was standing there minding my own business and he came at me with his team. I have to defend myself. I’m really sorry, guys.”
