Vulnerable Senator John Ossoff (D-GA) didn't have to wait long to hammer his vote to shut down the federal government.
The National Republican Senators Committee (NRSC) began purchasing five-digit digital ads on Friday within hours of Ossov's vote on the government fundraising bill that Ossov was handed over.
The ongoing solution will be extended to the September funding level that Ossov supported in December.
What's the biggest difference between then and now? Donald Trump is currently president.
The bill passed after 10 Democrats voted to allow the bill to proceed. However, Ossov voted to block the bill and voted against its passing.
30 Second Narrator spot say:
Democrat John Ossoff voted for a reckless government shutdown that would hurt his family in Georgia. John Ossoff voted against the increase in our troops and firefighters' salaries. For funding for border security. He even voted for our veteran.
President Trump called on Congress to unite and win. However, Ossov voted to shut down the government. He is more interested in fighting Trump than getting things done.
John Ossoff. disappointing. It's embarrassing. Bad for Georgia.
The House passed the CR on Tuesday just before the deadline on Friday night and left Washington after working.
If the Senate refused the CR, the government would have been certain.
NRSC Chairman Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) blows up Ossov on Thursday night after Georgia Senator announcement He would oppose CR.
“One more, Ossov has the most radical members of his party,” Scott said in a statement. “By becoming the latest member of the AOC team and voting to shut down the government, he wants to put our troops, veterans and border guards at risk. Georgia has plenty.”
The NRSC is riding high after a handful of Democrats announced they would retire rather than pursue a difficult re-election bid. Gary Peters (D-Mi), Tina Smith (D-MN) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) announced this year that they are calling it quits.
