Alex Marlow, editor-in-chief of Breitbart News, sat down with Progeru CEO Marissa Streit, who provided an update on Dennis Prager's health. “Dennis is still Dennis,” Strait said, adding, “I know he's back.”
“When they go through difficult times, you really judge people,” Strait told Marlow on Tuesday's episode. Alex Marlow Show. “You really see who a person really is.”
“And sees Dennis get this injury – for those who are new to those who haven't heard of the injury – Dennis is fine, but he suffered from a severe fall,” Pragel CEO added.
Streit continues:
He slipped and hit his head, but fortunately nothing happened to Dennis Prager's brain, despite the hit heading towards his head. It was an absolute miracle that Dennis is still Dennis. He is still wise, clever, interesting and perfectly with it. However, his spinal cord injury was serious. He pounded the spinal cord in the C3 and C4 regions, the areas that control the breathing and diaphragm. And then the first few months — three months passed — for the first few months, the doctor was thinking about how he would regain his breathing function.
Initially it was a breathing tube, a CPAP machine that helps support his breathing, and he has been weaning breathing aids and breathing machines. [tracheostomy] The collar, and closes out a few hours throughout the day when he can actually talk.
“So, about three weeks ago, I went into Dennis' room. “Dennis, what was it like in your head for over two months? What did you learn? What were you thinking?” Because Dennis was a public speaker for most of his adults,” added Strait.
“And what I spent time with him was about how grateful he was,” Pragel CEO said. “So can you imagine someone who has just experienced this serious fall, and he can't move most of his body.
“He is very focused on how grateful he is to his wife, how grateful he is to his children, how grateful he is to his community, to the Pragel community, and to his audience who have sent letters. He is very focused on how grateful he is. He is still Dennis,” Strait explained.
Streit went on to ask Prager how he was doing and said, “Well, last year when I asked him what I was doing, I'd say I'm doing better than my country.”
“Dennis is following what's going on in the news and what's going on in our country,” Strait said.
“But Dennis knows he's back,” added Pragel CEO. “He's as disciplined as he can get it. He works hard every day to breathe again and work tirelessly to make sure he can air again. That's his intention, he has a goal, and his eyesight is in his goal.”
“He's really inspiration,” claimed Streit. “And it's not surprising that he's this incredible person we're used to learning, seeing Dennis at this very challenging time and how he handles it.”
