Exclusive — Rep. Ashley Hinson: DOGE ‘Just Getting Started’

Government efficiency (DOGE) is “just starting” by identifying wasteful spending and saving taxpayers' money, says Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA). Breitbart News Daily.

When asked about Doge's past ratings, and Hinson said that while the initial results are promising, there is much more to do.

“I've heard we've already saved hundreds of millions of dollars in just 43 days. I think it's very clear that we're just peeling off the highest layer of onions,” she said.

“And you have to look at the government in the same way that the governor of Iowa is looking at Iowa's government. There's a lot of efficiency in Iowa. That's why Iowa understands these changes, so when I say Iowa is a red state, she said, using her state as an example of what can be done at the federal level.

“We need to help with this federal fund overhaul and review, because you have to look at it like a company. You need to maximize the return on investment for taxpayers, and when you see the amount they've already shaking and found, I think we're just starting out,” she continued.

“You know, as I serve in the House of Representatives of the Approval Committee, I think it provides a great opportunity to make fundamental changes to the size and scope of these institutions,” she continued.

Lawmakers said it would ultimately be up to Congress to cut federal spending, so they are particularly excited that Doge has demonstrated its ability to find waste, fraud and abuse very quickly and efficiently.

listen:

“I think we have more work to do, so I look forward to seeing all the work Doge is doing to make a lot of this public,” she explained. “It took me decades to get to this point. I'm in Congress. I served under the Democrat Trial, and I wouldn't recommend it, but even in my first semester, I think it was a $6 trillion expenditure. So there's a lot to cancel the budget.”

Hinson also pointed out that many federal agencies have budgets that have increased 30% during the coronavirus era. That in itself is a problem.

“That's not what government needs to run. What Doge is doing, and to many of these employees, 'What have you done recently?”, we need to make sure we are efficient. We serve Americans in a way that is appropriate, and then we are looking again at some of those spending in other ways of spending,” she added.
