Former President Donald Trump is making invisible Americans feel seen, Sen. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) said during an appearance. Breitbart News Saturdayexplained why the former president is qualified for the job and laid out what President Trump should look for in his running mate.
“First of all, for all the Americans who feel invisible, President Trump makes us visible. I'm speaking out loud on behalf of Trump,” said Scott, who formally endorsed President Trump on Friday.
“What we're seeing in the halls of Congress is the negotiations and the aftermath of the largest invasion across the southern border in American history. By November, Matt, there will be 10 million illegal immigrants crossing the border. But under the Biden administration, 95 percent are allowed in. It's an invasion,” Scott said, explaining how much worse things have become under President Joe Biden's leadership.
“This is just terrible, undeniable, terrible for America's security… So what do we do? Don't do last-minute negotiations,” Scott said, adding that President Trump is not willing to make critical decisions like border security. He explained that it brings “confidence” to the table when negotiating items.
“What's missing is confidence and what President Trump brings to the table when negotiating border security: a track record. Last month, last month, 300,000 people crossed the border illegally. “When President Trump faced these issues, this number was 90 percent lower. Not 10 percent lower, not 50 percent lower, 90 percent lower,” Scott said. He argued that it creates confidence.
Additionally, Scott said it's time for Republicans to unite behind Trump.
Asked if he would consider running for vice president if nominated, Scott said, “President Trump needs the Republican Party to keep one thing in mind: make him president.'' I think it's a unified party.”
