Expecting Liberal Women Share Videos Taking Tylenol to Challenge Trump

Controversy Arises Over Acetaminophen Use During Pregnancy

Recently, some women who identify as liberal have shared videos where they appear to destroy acetaminophen, commonly referred to as Tylenol. This comes after President Donald Trump suggested that pregnant women should minimize their use of certain medications, citing potential links to an “increasing risk of autism.”

On Monday, Trump made his comments alongside figures like Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Mehmet Oz, who oversees the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The administration is on a quest to explore the underlying reasons for the recent surge in autism cases among children, referring to it as “one of the most surprising public health developments in history.” According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in every 31 children is diagnosed with autism.

Trump conveyed that some studies indicate a possible correlation between the avoidance of vaccines and a lack of autism cases. “Some groups, like the Amish, for instance, don’t have autism, so maybe that tells us something,” he said.

He also highlighted that the FDA would be advising medical professionals regarding the potential risks associated with acetaminophen during pregnancy.

In reaction to this announcement, several liberal women have filmed themselves “taking down” Tylenol. In one video, a pregnant woman demonstrated the pill’s destruction, explaining, “As a pregnant woman, I take Tylenol because I trust science and the expertise of medical professionals.”

Other mothers have shared similar videos, expressing concern about the potential link between drug use and autism risks for their children. Meanwhile, some have described Trump’s announcement as an “attack on women.”

During his address, Trump reiterated, “Using Tylenol is not advisable. I recommend women limit its use during pregnancy unless it is absolutely necessary.” He cited scenarios like high fever in pregnant women as instances where medication might be essential, though he emphasized caution.

This announcement has stirred a significant reaction since acetaminophen has traditionally been regarded as a safe option for pain relief for expectant mothers. Trump has urged that “all pregnant women” consult their doctors regarding the use of this medication.

In a previous update, Kennedy mentioned that research aimed at pinpointing the causes of autism is anticipated to wrap up by March. “We’ll have a lot more information by September,” he stated, adding that the research wouldn’t cease then but would continue to inform public policy.
