XRP Price Prediction in Question
Jake Claver, CEO of Digital Ascension Group, once confidently claimed that XRP would hit $100 by 2026. However, as of January 1, the actual price of XRP is nowhere near that prediction.
Around the end of 2025, discussions about Claver’s forecast sparked a rift within the XRP community. His stance faced significant scrutiny, especially when he reaffirmed his prediction that XRP would indeed climb to $100.
Just before the year ended, Claver mentioned that “major institutions are accumulating XRP behind the scenes” and suggested that the current price is merely a shadow of its potential.
On December 31, XRP was trading at approximately $1.84, which is quite a bit lower than Claver anticipated. Following this miss, he reiterated his views on January 1, indicating that there may be discussions happening with major entities that could lead to widespread adoption.
As of January 1, XRP’s trading price had slightly risen to $1.86, reflecting a 19.9% decline over the past year.
Critics, including cryptocurrency influencer Zack Rector, accused Claver of misleading investors. They referenced a lawsuit from 2023 against his company for allegedly fabricating transfer screenshots exceeding $1 million, resulting in a permanent injunction by early 2025.
Some supporters see XRP’s reduced foreign exchange reserves as a potential indicator for a breakout. Data reveals that XRP reserves on exchanges have dropped to around 2.64 billion, the lowest since 2024.
Still, some voices in the community, like influencer Dom Kwok, remind everyone to remain grounded. “I’m optimistic for the long term, but being rational is key,” he stated.
On the other hand, cryptocurrency influencer John Squire stepped in to defend Claver. He pointed out that while Claver’s prediction didn’t materialize, the reaction from the crowd speaks more about social dynamics than the original comment.
For XRP to truly reach $100, its market valuation would have to blow past $6 trillion—a staggering leap from its current $113 billion.
Recently, Jeffrey Kendrick from Standard Chartered Bank shared a more tempered outlook, predicting XRP to increase by nearly 300%, targeting around $8 in 2026.
