More changes have been made to F1 Academy for the 2025 season.
The All Femmer series will begin its third season at China's Grand Prix next month, with the grid already expanding to 18 cars for its 2025 campaign. This year at Formula 1 Academy, the weekend composition for each race will remain the same for up to two practices, one qualifying session and two races, but the starting grid for Race 1 will be changed this year.
Starting this season, Race 1 will be a “reverse grid” race. According to the F1 Academy.”[t]The race 1 grid is set up by inverting the top eight drivers from the eligible classification. All other drivers start where they are qualified. ”
Therefore, drivers who finish first in qualifying will be eighth in Race 1, and drivers who finish eighth start head-on.
Additionally, the top eight drivers in Race 1 will be awarded points, and bonus points will be awarded to drivers who “achieves the fastest lap time within the top eight finishers.”
Race 2 format and point allocation have not changed this season. The grid is set by the fastest lap of the driver in the qualifying round, and points are awarded to the top 10 drivers, one point of the driver with the fastest lap in the top 10, and two points of the driver to start. On P1.
“The return of the reverse grid in 2025 promises an exciting race that will surpass us,” said Delphine Biscayne, F1 Academy Competition Manager. “The changes will be challenged and developed driver racecraft, and prepare for reverse grid to advance the mainstay of the weekend format, the motorsport ladder.
“The reverse grid is a great opportunity for drivers who are qualified to demonstrate their ability to race the P5-P8 often on the front line, and podium and race victory are necessary to unlock their full confidence and potential. It's something.”
The 2025 F1 Academy season will begin next month with China's Grand Prix.
