F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix: Following the unique car designs

Las Vegas Grand Prix Teams Showcase Custom Liveries

For the first two Las Vegas Grand Prix events, Formula 1 teams featured unique paint designs to showcase their cars in the vibrant atmosphere of Sin City.

This year’s event seems to be following the same trend.

Several teams have already launched custom liveries for the Las Vegas Grand Prix happening this weekend, and it’s likely more will join in. We’ll keep an eye on them as they unveil their designs.

Williams F1 Team Goes Black

The Williams team was the first to introduce its special paint for this Grand Prix. In an announcement made on Monday, the team presented this week’s livery, celebrating their partnership with Atlassian and their innovative AI teammate named Rovo.

The new color scheme is primarily black and can be spotted on their cars.

“This striking livery highlights our collaboration with Atlassian, a partner that is accelerating our tech transformation and helping us regain our competitive edge. There’s no better place to show this off than in Las Vegas, known for its technological advancements,” said Team Principal James Vowles.

This marks the third consecutive race where Williams showcases a custom design. They used a throwback to their 2002 livery at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, and then introduced a ‘Driven by Words’ concept for the São Paulo Grand Prix. This design is meant to reflect the deep passion associated with racing, featuring 493 words that fans connect with Williams and Gulf.

Sauber’s Final Lap

As the F1 teams converge in Las Vegas, it’s bittersweet for Sauber, as their time in the sport is coming to a close.

Sauber debuted in F1 back in 1993 at the South African Grand Prix, but will transition to being managed by Audi works at the end of this season. To commemorate this change, they have revealed a special ‘Final Lap’ livery for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

“Las Vegas embraces spectacle and energy, pushing what’s possible, and this livery embodies that spirit,” commented team principal Jonathan Wheatley.

He added, “The ‘Final Lap’ design is bold, loud, and confident, reflecting our team’s journey and celebrating every milestone. It’s a fitting tribute as we wrap up this season.”

VCARB Unveils Holographic Design

The Visa Cash App Racing Bulls team is well-acquainted with unique paint jobs. Earlier in the season, they adopted a vibrant magenta design for the Miami Grand Prix, collaborated with artist Sloan for graffiti-style artwork at the British Grand Prix, and showcased the VCARB for the American Grand Prix.

At the Las Vegas Grand Prix, VCARB has introduced an eye-catching holographic paint scheme.

Peter Beyer, CEO of VCARB, stated, “This season has highlighted the importance of special liveries to both the team and its fans. From the bold magenta in Miami to collaborations at Silverstone and Austin, each design has expressed creativity. Closing the season with this striking Las Vegas design feels like a perfect culmination of our journey.”

While beauty can be subjective, it’s hard to deny that this paint scheme is something special.
