FAA air traffic controller charged with assault for fight in DC airport’s control tower

Reports say that a Federal Aviation Administration employee at Washington, DC's Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport has been arrested on suspicion of a physical altercation inside an air traffic control tower.

Damon Marsalis Gaines, 38, reportedly was placed on administrative leave. Gaines faces assault and battery claims in connection with the alleged incident inside the air traffic control tower at DC Airport.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is in multiple air traffic emergency headlines.

Politics An officer from Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority reported on March 27 that he responded to the incident.

Quoting the source, Daily Mail Several working Air Tower Controllers reported that they entered “a fiery discussion” “before one throws a punch at the other.”

“Blood was spilling on the control console by the time our rough colleagues were separated,” the outlet reported.

Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority confirmed the incident Fox News.

Details about what caused the argument remain unknown.

“Employees are on administrative leave while we investigate the issue,” said a FAA spokesman.
