"False!" – Trump Answers Claims He Caused Colbert's Dismissal

Trump Responds to Colbert’s Firing

Donald Trump has dismissed claims suggesting he was responsible for Stephen Colbert’s dismissal as “not true.” In a recent statement, he attributed Colbert’s exit to a “pure lack of talent,” emphasizing that this inadequacy resulted in significant financial losses for the network, estimating a cost of around $50 million per year.

Trump noted, “Everyone says I am solely responsible for the firing of Stephen Colbert from CBS late at night. That’s not true! The reason he was fired was a pure shortage of talent, the fact that this shortage cost $50 million a year, which only made it worse! Next up is the even less talented Jimmy Kimmel and the weak, extremely unstable Jimmy Fallon. The only real question is who will go first? Showbiz and TV are a very simple business. Once you get a rating, you can say something or do anything. Otherwise you will always be a victim. Colbert will become his own victim, and the other two will follow.

Reports from sources close to the New York Post indicate that Colbert’s show was projected to lose between $40 million to $50 million last year alone. A Skydance insider expressed, “This is losing money on both sides. Hearing he’s on the way to lose over $50 million, he would have killed him sooner if he was in charge. This guy will anger more than half of the country.”

The New York Post mentioned that the CBS late-night show would likely have been canceled much earlier if not for the merger of parent companies Paramount and Skydance. The financial aspects have been grim, showing a far greater loss than profit for the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Sources believe that following the Skydance deal, the show was a main target for possible cancellation.

“This is losing money on both sides,” one insider stated. “I heard they were on the way to lose more than $50 million, but if they were in charge, they would have killed them early. This guy is pissed over half of the country.”

Ultimately, Colbert’s departure is seen as a consequence of the show’s financial struggles.
