Tragic Murder of Ohio Dentist and Wife Found
The bodies of a dentist and his wife from Ohio were discovered shot in their home, with their two young children present, visibly upset. They expressed their heartbreak, describing their feelings as beyond what words could capture.
Spencer Tepe, 37, and Monique Tepe, 39, were killed in their Columbus residence, valued at $700,000, on a Tuesday. Friends and family recalled them as “special people filled with love,” according to reports. Monique’s brother, Rob Misley, spoke on behalf of their loved ones, describing the couple’s strong, joyful relationship and their shared love for travel and laughter.
“They were proud parents to two beautiful children and their cherished Goldendoodle, creating a warm and happy home. Our family is heartbroken beyond words,” they added in their statement.
The family promised to pursue justice for the couple and ensure a secure future for their children, who were described as deeply loved.
Spencer, who practiced at a dental clinic in Athens, was found with multiple gunshot wounds after a welfare check. Monique had also been shot at least once in the chest, as noted in police documents.
Law enforcement is searching for a suspect who fled the scene without any signs of forced entry.
Spencer was an alumnus of The Ohio State University and a member of the American Dental Association. He was remembered fondly by many as a devoted father and a kind friend.
“He was warm, intelligent, and always welcoming,” a statement noted.
His family highlighted his commitment to community service and his passion for sports, particularly his support for the Bengals and Buckeyes.
Monique was seen as a nurturing and joyful mother, her kindness leaving a lasting impression on those around her.
The couple got married in 2021 and were approaching their fifth anniversary.
Spencer’s coworkers stumbled upon the tragic scene when they noticed the children crying and realized he hadn’t reported to work. Thankfully, their one-year-old son and four-year-old daughter were unharmed during the incident.
The police reported that no firearms were found at the scene, and the circumstances ruled out a murder-suicide theory.
However, a police camera nearby could have captured footage of the suspect near their home in the typically quiet Weinland Park area.
The investigation into this shocking double murder is still active. Authorities have urged anyone with information to reach out to the Columbus Police Homicide Unit or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers.
