Family seeks a 'Halloween miracle' after a thief steals their 13-foot Jack Skellington animatronic

Disheartened Family Seeks ‘Halloween Miracle’ After Theft

A California family, devoted fans of Disney, is longing for a “Halloween miracle” following the theft of their impressive 13-foot-tall Jack Skellington animatronic. The unsettling incident devastated them just weeks before Halloween.

Every year, from October through New Year’s, Avelina Rodriguez adorns her yard with an array of decorations featuring the iconic character from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Jack, as they adore him, keeps a watchful eye on trick-or-treaters and carolers during the spooky season.

Yet this year, just ahead of Halloween, tragedy struck when a thief stole their beloved garden display. Rodriguez’s whole family, including her 2-year-old granddaughter—whose first word was “Jack”—was heartbroken over the loss.

Neighbors quickly banded together to support the family, mourning the disappearance of this cherished local fixture. After the theft, a thoughtful neighbor visited Rodriguez, offering to share the surveillance footage of the incident.

The video revealed a hooded figure lifting the towering skeleton and loading it onto the roof of a getaway car in the early hours of the morning. Rodriguez expressed disbelief, wondering how anyone could manage such a feat under the cover of darkness.

She lamented the disruption of a beloved family tradition and yet remains hopeful for Jack’s return, holding on to the idea of a miraculous comeback.

“It’s incredibly meaningful to me. A Halloween miracle would bring joy not only to me but to my family, reminding us that hope still exists,” she reflected.

The chaotic spirit of the spooky season evidently invites its fair share of odd occurrences. In a related note, last October, an officer in Ohio found himself humorously caught under a giant inflatable pumpkin that unexpectedly rolled over him. Additionally, not long ago, the same officer encountered two aggressive turkeys during a routine traffic stop.
