Fan exchanges five kilograms of fish for a ticket to Bodø/Glimt vs. Tottenham

As the hosts strive to become the first Norwegian club to make it to a European final, a unique trade emerged. A local from Norway offered fish in exchange for tickets to the semi-final match between Bodø/Glimt and Tottenham on Thursday.

About 50,000 fans were vying for just 480 available tickets for the second leg of Bodø/Glimt’s Europa League semi-finals.

After not securing tickets, Torbyon Ide, who manages a fish farm in Senja, shared five kilograms of a Norwegian delicacy, valued at around 2,500 Norwegian crowns (approximately 182 pounds).

“We produce the finest Boknafisks in Norway, but you probably can’t find it in Bodø City, so I figured someone might want it,” Ide remarked to Norway’s national broadcaster NRK on Tuesday.

Oystein Annes, who had extra tickets due to his brother’s change of plans, took up the offer. “It was just a bit of fun,” Annes stated to NRK.

Motivated by this exchange, Nils Erik Oskal decided to offer five kilograms of reindeer meat. “Somebody grabbed the food quickly,” he said, mentioning that his trade might be worth about 1,000 Norwegian crowns. “But that doesn’t really matter to me; I want to experience something great,” Oskal added.

The Spurs managed to defeat the Norwegian team 3-1 in the first leg of the semi-finals last Thursday.
