Raiders and Chargers players engaged in one of the most violent brawls seen in an NFL game on Sunday, but fans tried to outdo them in the bloody melee.
It's always hard to know what causes these alcohol-induced conflicts, but it appears that a Raiders fan in a black t-shirt started fighting with a Chargers fan wearing a Derwin James #3 shirt. Another Raiders fan wearing a Maxx Crosby jersey showed up and tried to intervene. Then, somehow, the Raiders fan in the black t-shirt attacked the Maxx Crosby fan, and both the Chargers fan and the Maxx Crosby guy pounced on him, knocking him unconscious.
But that wasn't the end of it. A woman, possibly accompanying the bloodied and unconscious Raiders fan, attacked a man wearing a Maxx Crosby jersey, knocking him to the ground.
Thankfully, some bystanders had the presence of mind to protect the unconscious combatant from further punishment.
As for the brawl inside the stadium, after a failed two-point conversion attempt in the fourth quarter, Raiders cornerback Jack Jones and Chargers wide receiver Josh Palmer got into a fistfight, with the teams trading blows.
The Chargers had the last laugh. They beat the Raiders 22-10. Football is back.
