FanDuel, DraftKings both see over $300M in Super Bowl bets

Super Bowl LVIII had very high ratings, with an average audience of 123.7 million viewers, according to Nielsen. This seems to have been a noteworthy event for major gambling companies.

FanDuel said it ended up handling more than $307 million from more than 14 million Super Bowl bets. According to the company, this is a “new record.”

FanDuel says more than 2.5 million active users have placed these bets.

Meanwhile, fellow betting company DraftKings announced Thursday that more than 2.4 million customers are betting on the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, starting last week.

Over 12.4 million wagers were received by DraftKings during that period, totaling over $305 million.

Before Sunday’s game, that record belonged to Super Bowl LVI. The game between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals generated a record $179.8 million in wagers at the state’s sportsbooks, the Nevada Gaming Control Board announced.

The data comes after an American Gaming Association report predicted Super Bowl bets by American adults will reach $23.1 billion this year overall.
