Willis’ message that no one is above or below the law comes as the district attorney is currently under investigation by Republicans in both houses of Congress and two committees in the Georgia State Assembly.

But Willis said these investigations were based on “the wrong reasons.”

“Jim Jordan has attacked my office numerous times without any legitimate purpose,” Willis told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on Monday. “Anyone who knows Jim Jordan’s history knows that his sole purpose is to interfere with criminal investigations.”

“His jurisdiction has some of the highest crime and poverty rates, and he has never used his position to investigate people who attack me or others who are doing their legitimate jobs,” she added. “His position is not legitimate. That’s why I’m raising this issue at the federal level, because now at the state level they’ve decided to follow this clown’s lead and they’re trying to interfere in an investigation, which is also not legitimate.”

Later in Willis’ victory speech, the district attorney said Willis planned to celebrate by drinking Gray Goose vodka.

“Now, ladies and gentlemen, please stop and smell the roses every once in a while tonight,” Willis said. “And tonight, let’s stop and smell the roses.”
