A significant altercation broke out in the stands at WWE Summer Slam on Sunday, unrelated to the Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena match. A video shared on X showed what looked to be three female fans, with some male spectators pulling one woman away. Meanwhile, another man seemed to grab a male fan, while two women exchanged punches and—um—hairstyles in the confusion.
It appeared that six fans were directly involved, although only one woman was shown throwing any punches. Interestingly, the woman in red pants even managed to kick one of the men once security had calmed things down, though it’s unclear what triggered the chaos.
With 60,531 attendees at MetLife Stadium, which is home to the Giants and Jets, the total weekend attendance reached 113,722. Quite a turnout!
As for the matches on the second night, both top titles changed hands three times. CM Punk bested Gunther to win the World Heavyweight Championship, but his triumph was short-lived. He quickly cashed in his money in the bank briefcase and executed a curb stomp to take the title, revealing that his long-time rival Seth Rollins was not actually injured.
Cody Rhodes also made a comeback, defeating John Cena to reclaim the WWE Championship, a title he had lost previously to China at WrestleMania 41. The two shared a heartfelt moment in the ring after the match.
In a shocking twist, Brock Lesnar then attacked Cena, reigniting one of the most historic rivalries in WWE history. So, it’ll be interesting to see how this unfolds on “Monday Night Raw” at 8 PM.
