Fans at Yankee Stadium support Trump and he predicts success: 'You're gonna win'

Trump Inspires Yankees Ahead of Game

On Thursday, President Trump shared some motivational words with the New York Yankees, and it seems the players really took it to heart.

“You’re going to win. You’re on a roll,” Trump told the team during a gathering in the clubhouse before their game at Yankee Stadium.

In the first inning, Yankees slugger Aaron Judge launched his 45th home run of the season. It was quite a way to start the game.

Judge followed up with his 46th homer after two innings. Trump encouraged him before the match, saying, “With that much muscle, you have to hit it just right. You’re outstanding… you’re incredible.”

During his time at the stadium, Trump greeted several players, even signing autographs at the clubhouse. There was a buzz of excitement when pitcher Fernando Cruz was hurriedly dressed by his teammates as Trump arrived.

Surrounded by various Congressional and Trump administration officials, the president received a warm welcome from fans attending the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

As Trump appeared on the stadium video board, the crowd responded with both loud cheers and some muted boos during his introduction. There was also a chant of “America, America” that broke out among the fans.

Public address announcer Paul Alden introduced Trump midway through the second inning, and the reaction was mixed but lively. “The New York Yankees welcome U.S. President Donald J. Trump on this significant anniversary,” he announced.

Trump watched the game from the Steinbrenner Family Suite, where fans had been encouraged to arrive early due to enhanced security measures. Observers noted the presence of what appeared to be Secret Service agents around the stadium.

He sat next to team owner Hal Steinbrenner and team president Randy Levine, with several Congressional members, including Republican representatives, also in attendance. Among those spotted were Attorney General Pam Bondy and former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, who humorously remarked on his near-arrest situation outside the stadium.

Trump left before the end of the seventh inning, shortly after participating in the rendition of “God Bless America.” As he exited, he was met with chants of “Donald Trump! Donald!” from the crowd.

At one point, when “YMCA” started playing, Trump broke into his signature dance, which amused fans, even prompting a couple of Tigers players to mimic him.

Interestingly, New York City Mayor Eric Adams seemed to be attempting to persuade Trump in light of an upcoming election, although he didn’t make an appearance in the president’s suite.

As Trump had anticipated, the Yankees beat the Tigers decisively, finishing with a 9-3 victory.
