Fans Criticize Jimmy Fallon for Having Greg Gutfeld on 'The Tonight Show'

Viewers expressed dissatisfaction with late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon for featuring NBC’s Greg Gutfeld on his show last week.

Fans took to Reddit to voice their displeasure regarding Thursday’s episode, particularly upset about Fallon hosting a conservative figure.

“I really can’t stand Fallon,” one user stated.

Another remarked, “Fallon has always been a ‘yes’ guy. He seems to lack any strong beliefs.”

A third commented, “I dislike Fallon, and this is just one more reason why.”

One Redditor posed a rather curious question: Why is Fallon giving Fox News a platform?

“There’s no defending this decision,” another insisted. “Having him on the show means I’ve lost all respect for Jimmy. I’ve tried to give him the benefit of the doubt for years, but this is it for me.”

“I’ve always thought Fallon’s interviews felt a bit soulless and odd. This just confirms my feelings,” someone else said.

Other viewers seemed less shocked, recalling a past episode from 2016 when Fallon hosted then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.

“Fallon has previously normalized some of the worst traits on the right,” wrote a Reddit user, sharing a GIF of Fallon ruffling Trump’s hair in that 2016 segment, adding, “This isn’t surprising.”

Another commenter remembered Fallon discussing his regrets over the Trump hair ruffle and how it affected public perception.

“Jimmy is probably worried about backlash. It’s all about ‘kissing the ring,'” speculated someone about the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s show in May 2026.

However, a recent study pointed out that late-night hosts rarely have conservative guests. The research indicated a significant lean towards left-leaning viewpoints in these shows.

According to reports, 511 liberal guests appeared on late-night television compared to only 14 conservative or Republican guests.

Colbert’s show faced cancellation, while another show hosted 176 left-leaning guests and only one Republican since 2022.
