USC and Oregon Fans Brawl During Game

In a rather ironic twist, chaos broke out at the Coliseum on Saturday night as an Oregon quarterback, Dante Moore, was being checked out by medical staff after a severe hit. While Moore was later sent to a nearby hospital, a fight erupted between a USC fan and an Oregon supporter right in the stands during the Trojans’ 41-27 defeat to the 20th-ranked Ducks.

The USC fan happened to be wearing a jersey numbered 8, the same as Trojans linebacker Desman Stephens II. Stephens was ejected earlier in the game for a targeting foul after his hit on Moore in the second quarter.

Video footage from the incident shows the two fans exchanging punches while others around them scrambled to either escape or record the moment on their phones. Amid the chaos, a woman tried to intervene, tossing her drink toward the USC fan in an attempt to break up the scuffle.

“I remember my first fight!” a spectator could be heard shouting as the scene unfolded. The altercation lasted for about 20 seconds before bystanders managed to separate the two men.

Throughout the commotion, a more serious scene was playing out in the background: Moore was being taken off the field on a stretcher and transferred to an ambulance. The aggression had already begun simmering on the field, with Oregon players confronting Stephens immediately after the hit. Tension escalated even further when Stephens celebrated the tackle, exchanging high-fives with teammates on the sidelines.

After the final whistle, the hostility lingered. Another video captured footage of USC and Oregon players involved in a confrontation in the tunnel as both teams made their way to the locker rooms.

The coincidence of a fan in a No. 8 jersey fighting as a player wearing the same number was noted on social media, prompting comments like, “Buddy was in the stands too?!?!” and “How many No. 8s on SC getting DQd at the game?”

This marked the second instance of fan altercations in the Coliseum during USC’s recent home games. At this point, “Fight On!” is starting to feel less like a rallying cry and more akin to an actual playbook for the fans.

Moore, who was injured during the first half of the game, was also a focal point of the night as he was transported off the field.
