Fans of the beloved VTuber Illy are mourning her passing, as fellow streamer Drumsy shared the heartbreaking news online.
Illy, a prominent Scottish VTuber, had been open about her battle with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder that leads to severe lung and digestive problems due to mucus buildup.
In August 2025, she started a fundraiser to check off items on her “bucket list,” which included attending a Vocaloid concert, visiting conventions and theme parks, and hosting a big party with her loved ones.

On January 1, 2026, Drumsy revealed that Illy had passed away at 23 following complications from her cystic fibrosis, which unexpectedly worsened during the Christmas week of 2025.
“She was taken to the hospital,” Drumsy said in a YouTube video addressing the situation. “I received a call from her mother, who informed me that the doctors had exhausted all options. They ensured she was comfortable and free of pain. She departed peacefully in her sleep.”
Drumsy shared that all proceeds from the ‘Illy Racing’ shirt in his merchandise store would benefit the Butterfly Trust, a charity dedicated to supporting cystic fibrosis patients and raising awareness about the disease.
Illy had expressed a desire to create a fundraiser for the Butterfly Trust before her passing, and Drumsy noted that the organization had financed her medical care.
He is also offering a framed poster of Illy’s VTuber avatar in his store. The profits from this item will go to her mother, who had been a constant support throughout Illy’s life.
The community reacted with deep sadness, sending their condolences to Illy’s friends and family while reminiscing about cherished moments from her streams.
