Fans Outraged After Canadiens’ Brendan Gallagher Viciously Elbows Opponent in the Head

Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher delivered one of the most devastating elbows ever seen in a hockey game Thursday night, and now fans are hoping he gets suspended. There is.

The incident occurred at Montreal's Center Bell Arena when Gallagher chased Islanders player Adam Pelech to prevent him from going too far into neutral territory.

Well, he succeeded.

Perec could not see Gallagher until it was too late, and Gallagher ignored a clear opportunity to see Perec's body and instead aimed for his head.

Gallagher was sent off for hitting Pelech. Perek, on the other hand, remained on the ice for a while before finally sliding off the ice.

Pelech did not return to the game.

Gallagher's former teammate, former NHL great penalty kicker Saban, also agreed to leave.

“I don’t know what else to call it,” Saban said of the elbow. “But to me, those are hits that we can't have. That's totally inexcusable. There's no benefit.”

The NHL is scheduled to hold a hearing on Friday to determine the severity of Gallagher's punishment.
