Fan's scream about a bug caused a stampede after 'Cowboy Carter' concert in Atlanta, sending 11 to the hospital

Following Beyoncé’s recent “Cowboy Carter” concert in Atlanta, a stampede led to chaos, resulting in the hospitalization of 11 individuals, including a young girl who was frightened by the commotion.

Authorities reported that panic ensued shortly after midnight as fans exited the nearby Mercedes-Benz Stadium. According to various sources, a video captured the distressing scene with people being transported on stretchers and into ambulances heading to local hospitals.

Ronda Allen, acting CEO of Malta, mentioned at a press conference that the panic was triggered when someone outside the station screamed, startling attendees. This, she explained, set off a chain reaction within the crowd.

As attendees rushed down an escalator, it halted abruptly, causing a pile-up as people fell over one another.

Allen noted that better crowd control measures would be in place for future events, stating, “We’re going to take a more proactive approach to how we’re staffing staff at these events.” She added that they would review the situation to improve passenger safety during high-profile gatherings.

Malta confirmed that the escalators would be examined for safety issues with the manufacturers involved, but specific details regarding the cause of the malfunction remain unclear.

A concertgoer, Amber Anderson, recounted the chaos, saying she found herself pinned under others as the crowd surged. “When we saw someone running, we thought everybody would start running,” she remarked. Despite the frightening scenario, she expressed disappointment that the focus shifted from the concert’s brilliance to the chaos.

The panic unfolded not long after an incident where unreleased music was stolen from an SUV belonging to a member of Beyoncé’s team. Choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer DeAndre Blue reported that two suitcases containing unreleased tracks and personal items had been taken from a rental Jeep.

In addition to the music, the bags reportedly held over $1,000 worth of clothing, two laptops, and a pair of AirPods.
