Georgia Tech celebrated its annual homecoming this week, but the Yellow Jackets entered Saturday's game as heavy underdogs against the No. 4 Miami Hurricanes.
Georgia Tech quarterbacks Haynes King and Aaron Philo finished the day with just 99 combined passing yards. However, the Yellow Jackets' strong running game helped propel them to a shocking 28-23 victory, giving them momentum into Saturday's homecoming festivities.
King ran 93 yards for a touchdown and threw for a score.
Shortly after game time reached zero, fans and students stormed the field at Bobby Dodd Stadium and knocked down both field goal posts.

Ward responded with a record-setting 74-yard scoring pass to Elijah Arroyo. This was Ward's 30th touchdown pass of the season, a school record. Ward was tied with Steve Walsh, who threw 29 touchdowns in 1988.
