Fans urge for Roger Craig's induction into the Hall of Fame

Roger Craig Appears at Levi’s Stadium

On Monday night, Roger Craig, a legendary player for the San Francisco 49ers, was seen at Levi’s Stadium before the game against the Carolina Panthers. He took a moment to greet Christian McCaffrey just ahead of kickoff.

During the game, McCaffrey impressed fans by rushing for 89 yards and scoring a touchdown, contributing to the 49ers’ victory over the Panthers with a score of 20-9.

As the crowd witnessed this moment of connection between past and present players, questions arose about why Craig has yet to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Selected in the second round by the 49ers in 1983, Craig had an impressive career that included three Super Bowl wins, four Pro Bowl selections, and one All-Pro recognition. He rushed for 8,189 yards and scored 56 touchdowns, surpassing 1,000 rushing yards three times during his tenure with the team.

Support for Craig’s induction into the Hall of Fame has gained traction among NFL fans on social media.

After his career with the 49ers, he went on to play for both the Los Angeles Raiders and the Minnesota Vikings. Craig continues to campaign for a spot in the Hall; he is among the nine semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2026 senior class.

The selection committee is set to meet on Tuesday to determine three finalists for the upcoming class.

Other notable semifinalists include Ken Anderson, Henry Ellard, LC Greenwood, Joe Jacoby, Eddie Medall, Stanley Morgan, Steve Tasker, and Otis Taylor.
