Week 10 of the 2024 Fantasy Football season begins. Are you ready to set your lineup? This week, the Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Seattle Seahawks will be out, all with byes, so players like Josh Jacobs and Kenneth Walker III will be out. The main running back will be absent.
However, we'll help you close the gap with two flex plays and one deep sleeper that lead to our Week 10 running back rankings in standard-scoring fantasy leagues.
Week 10 RB Flex Play
Tyrone Tracy Jr., New York Giants (vs. Panthers)
If you're looking for a week where New York Giants rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. can confidently start, this is your chance. Tracy clearly took over the Giants' RB1 role from Devin Singletary and excelled offensively despite lacking overall scoring ability. He has totaled 100 or more scrimmage yards in three of the five weeks since taking over the backfield in Week 5, ranking as the RB13 in standard-scoring fantasy leagues during that span. Since Week 5, Tracy ranks in the top 10 among running backs with seven missed tackles.
In Week 10, the Giants will face the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are one of the best matchups for opposing running backs in fantasy this year. They allow opposing running backs a league-high 1,196 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns while forcing a rushing rate of 4.7%, the second-lowest in the league. This year's Panthers defense ranks in the top three in both red zone play and goal line play, giving Tracy a great opportunity to generate both yardage and touchdowns.
Tuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers (vs. Giants)
When you throw two underperforming offenses into the same matchup, the safest bet is to use the run game. This week marks the long-awaited NFL debut of rookie Jonathon Brooks, but it's still a hot spot for Hubbard, who has been incredibly productive as the lead running back on offense. He has been excellent through nine games this season, averaging a career-high 5.0 yards per carry and just over 85 scrimmage yards per game. He also already tied the previous career high for rushing touchdowns (5).
This week, the Panthers will play the Giants in Munich, Germany, and the game's total score of 41.5 points feels far too generous. The Giants have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards this season, the second-highest explosive run rate (17.8%), and the second-highest average yards after contact per rushing attempt (3.5).
Week 10 RB Deep Sleeper
Roster percentage fantasy leagues on Yahoo! are shown in parentheses.
Ray Davis, Buffalo Bills (vs. Colts, 27%)
This play feels like a point chase after Davis just completed a 63-yard receiving touchdown on a trick play, but this play marks his third touchdown of the year and second in the past three weeks. Ta. Davis hasn't had a consistent role in the offense, playing just 14% of the offensive snaps last week, but he did score a touchdown in any given week in Josh Allen's offense.
This week's game against the Indianapolis Colts is expected to make the game script more friendly to add Davis. A middling rush defense, they sit as 4.5 point favorites against an Indy offense that did little last week under head coach Joe Flacco. center. If the Bills can manage a lead in this game, Davis' usage and snaps could increase and lead a team in need of deep play to victory.
