Fantasy Football Site Employee Fired After Cheating Scandal Involving $150k Grand Prize

An employee of a popular sports gambling site has been fired after he was found to have cheated on the site's fantasy football contest.

A former SportsHub Games Network employee and alleged fraudster is accused of changing players on the roster mid-game during the National Fantasy Football Championship (NFFC). Fantasy football rules prohibit changing the lineup after the game has started.

Specifically, he is accused of trading Miami's Raheem Mostert for Green Bay's Aaron Jones during the wild-card round. The move paid dividends, considering Aaron Jones had a great performance against Dallas, gaining 118 yards and three touchdowns while Mostert only ran for 33 yards.

But that wasn't the end.

The official is accused of replacing Kansas City wide receiver Laci Rice with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce during the divisional round. The exchange took place after Kelce caught the first of two touchdowns against the Bills.

National Fantasy Football Championship founder Greg Ambrosius detailed the allegations on the NFFC forum page.

“Recently, with the help of reports from public sources, we were able to uncover post-deadline activity in one of the NFFC Postseason Hold’em contests, which was detected and quickly confirmed .As a result, SportsHub was able to take immediate action to resolve “this issue without affecting the outcome of the contest,'' Ambrosius wrote.

“As a result of an internal investigation, the employee has been terminated and the contestant has been banned from further play on our platform.”

Ambrosius emphasized the seriousness of the cheating scandal and the threat it poses to the “integrity” of the entire operation.

“Nothing is more important than the integrity of a paid contest,” Ambrosius said. Said ESPN. “We have built integrity for over 20 years through transparency and everything we've done. And one action calls everything into question. This concerns me and our company. It calls into question everyone who does.”
