Tragic Death of Oklahoma Farmer Due to Buffalo Attack

Authorities in Jones, Oklahoma, reported that a farmer was fatally injured by a pair of buffaloes just one day after winning them at a livestock auction.

Police received an emergency call late Friday night, around 10:30 PM, concerning a buffalo attack on the individual’s farm. When officers arrived, they found it difficult to approach the victim, later identified as Bradley McMichael, due to the aggressive nature of the animals.

To ensure safe access for medical assistance, one of the buffaloes was shot by authorities. However, upon entering the area, responders discovered that McMichael had sustained multiple severe lacerations that ultimately proved fatal.

As investigators worked at the scene, the second buffalo became increasingly agitated, posing a threat to the paramedics. Consequently, this animal was also killed to protect everyone present.

A preliminary investigation indicated that both buffaloes were responsible for McMichael’s injuries. It was further revealed that he had purchased these two buffaloes just a day before the incident, on July 10th.

Detectives suspect that McMichael might have been trapped in the buffalo enclosure, potentially while caring for the new animals. His ex-wife, Amy Smith, shared with local media that he had a deep passion for livestock, saying, “Agriculture for cattle, that’s what he is.” She added that farming was his lifelong pursuit.
