Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is pushing for a “green” agenda to rebuild the Pacific Pallisade, offering faster permits to residents who agree to build “all-electric” homes when rebuilding, rather than using natural gas.
Last week, bass issued A new executive order for reconstruction at Palisade. I've read it partially (original emphasis):
Mayor Karen Bass issued an emergency executive order today to help residents of Pallisard promote the rebuilding of their homes and businesses in ways that better protect them from wildfires and other climate fuel disasters. At the mayor's direction, the city's department proceeds as follows:
- Streamline owner permission to rebuild all electricity
- As Los Angeles begins rebuilding, promote the use of fire-resistant construction materials to strengthen homes and businesses
- Further resilience of the utility to ensure power reliability during severe weather events
“Take residents home quickly and safely is my number one priority, and we must look to the future and rebuild.” Mayor Karen Bass. “Today's executive order is taking action to help residents strengthen their homes and businesses into wildfires and ensure that urban infrastructure can withstand future disasters.
Previously, Palisade residents were told that the only condition for a faster permitting process for rebuilding a home is to rebuild 10% larger than the homes that previously existed before the fire.
Left-wing cities are trying to ban gas stoves with new home construction, but there was backlash. Last year, “progressive” city in Berkeley, California abolition After the emergence of “resistance,” the ban on gas for beginners appeared.
California has also suffered from a power shortage at the end of summer in recent years due to a shortage of supply. This in itself abandons fossil fuels and hastens to embrace “renewable energies” such as wind and solar energy.
