Texas Father Shares Parenting Journey on Social Media
A Texas father is using social media to showcase his role in the lives of his two children, creating fun memories at any time. Roland Pollard, a financial advisor and content creator, shares insights on finance but primarily focuses on his experiences as a father. He even includes cheerleading tricks with his daughter, Jaden.
Pollard believes in the importance of paternal involvement. In a conversation with Fox News Digital, he stated, “Raising a child means sacrificing all your desires to nurture a small human into adulthood, someone who wasn’t necessarily asked to be here.”
The spark for his social media presence ignited during the COVID-19 pandemic when Pollard sought a creative outlet. “We had a two-and-a-half-year-old girl at home, so I started tossing her in the air,” he recalled. He applied techniques he would use in cheerleading classes, and she quickly took to it.
Initially, Pollard didn’t expect much from the videos he posted but shared them with family and friends. However, one video captured a genuine moment between him and his daughter, where he comforted her after she bumped her head during a stunt, eventually going viral.
Pollard continues to share authentic moments with his daughter, asserting, “I’m not just tossing her around for views. There’s training and love involved, but love can come with its own challenges. I showcase true interactions; nothing is scripted.”
He emphasized that he aims to depict the father-daughter connection, acknowledging the balance between being both a coach and a dad. “It’s important to know your child and what resonates with them,” he added.
Currently, Pollard is in the process of rebranding his content. “I want to convey what matters to me and not just cater to one area, whether it’s financial advice, entrepreneurship, or parenting,” he mentioned.
Jaden, who is a competitive Level 7 gymnast in Plano, Texas, noted that her father has never been one to cheerlead himself. “To me, being a father means waking up each day and not living just for myself,” Pollard explained.
Pollard is set to appear on Monday at 6:50 AM on Fox & Friends.
