Sen. Rand Paul and Dr. Fauci’s Diary Revelations
Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is allowing Dr. Anthony Fauci to share his own narrative through a series of diary entries from the height of the coronavirus pandemic. The implications for Fauci’s crafted public persona—and perhaps for some of his associates—could be significant.
Interestingly, it appears that the influence of these associates stretches into the media as well.

Blaze News has previously reported troubling new documents that suggest Fauci is somewhat egocentric, seemingly fixated on his public image.
Yet, his name surfaces repeatedly, appearing in over 1,100 pages of mainstream media articles. Notably, CNN anchor Jake Tapper is mentioned.
In an entry from October 23, 2020, Fauci mentions, “Dinner at home with Jake and Jennifer Tapper. Relaxed and had a great time. Jake clearly believes Trump is completely insane.”

A close inspection of the documents uncovers a concerning synergy between Fauci and Tapper. For instance, in a July 1, 2020 entry, Fauci almost proudly describes their bond as a “friendship.”
“We had dinner at Jake and Jen Tapper’s house in DC. They are a wonderful couple. We have struck up a friendship,” Fauci noted in a document made public by Senator Paul.
And, as is often the case with political friendships, this one seems to have been beneficial at various points during the pandemic.
On April 13, 2020, Fauci wrote about a phone conversation he had with Tapper, indicating that Jake wanted to ensure the interview didn’t put him in a difficult spot. Fauci had appeared on Tapper’s “State of the Union” program the day prior.
Nearly a month later, on May 14, 2020, he reflected on some “confusion” regarding vaccines and school closures, mentioning that Chris Cuomo and Tapper were attempting to clarify things in his favor during their segments.
Another striking entry from July 26, 2020, shows Fauci seemingly seeking to amend the narrative surrounding testing during a time of rising coronavirus fatalities. Here’s an excerpt worth considering:
The daily death count was at a notable high for the fifth straight day. Brett Giroir’s remarks on Tapper received significant attention, and I engaged Jake with a few questions. Mark Meadows, speaking with George Stephanopoulos, suggested that public health measures were failing and that vaccines and treatments would be our sole reliance. This approach seemed like an attempt to recover from setbacks and create an “October surprise.” There was a lot riding on pushing for early vaccine approval and influencing decisions on treatment approaches, and things seemed quite precarious.
Fauci is scheduled to give testimony on Wednesday morning before the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
CNN has chosen not to comment regarding this matter. A representative for Jake Tapper has also opted out of making a statement.
