FBI Director Highlights Trophy from Arctic Frost Investigation
On Thursday, FBI Director Kash Patel mentioned that some agents had, in a rather unusual twist, given him a trophy for his involvement in the “Arctic Frost” inquiry during the Biden administration.
“I often get asked why I refer to the old FBI as a ‘sick temple,’” he wrote on X. “This is what happens with corruption when you believe no one is paying attention.”
Patel shared a photo of a trophy he claimed was “self-created” by an FBI agent, celebrating the Arctic Frost investigation.
The trophy features the letters “A” and “F” at the top, with a lightning bolt nestled between them and a dollar sign situated above. The base includes small representations of the White House and Capitol, alongside a map showcasing states like Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
Interestingly, these states were where Republicans allegedly attempted to assert that Trump won the 2020 election against Biden.
Etched along the bottom of the trophy is “CR-15,” a reference to the Federal Public Corruption Task Force from the FBI’s Washington office, which Patel disbanded last year. This task force had been key to the Arctic Frost investigation, launched in April 2022 to look into claims of interference in the 2020 presidential election, and was later handed over to former special counsel Jack Smith.
This probe scrutinized attempts by Trump and his supporters to contest the election results, including showcasing alternative electoral lists. Reports indicate that the FBI conducted secret surveillance on over a dozen congressional members and investigated more than a hundred conservative organizations as part of a broad inquiry.
Patel’s post concluded with a firm statement: “I have disbanded CR-15 and removed the corrupt actors involved. So when mainstream media cries out about how President Trump’s FBI has let people go and implemented significant reforms, my response is simple: Yes, we did.”
