FBI Director Kash Patel promises to pursue those who assault police officers

In light of escalating violence against police officers, FBI Director Kash Patel delivered a stern warning on Saturday, emphasizing that anyone who attacks law enforcement will be pursued and apprehended. His remarks were made during an interview on SiriusXM Patriot’s “Breitbart News Saturday,” where he discussed the troubling increase in assaults on federal employees.

“We have to support blue,” Patel stated. He urged police officers and the public that any harm done to an officer would be met with serious consequences. “If you touch a police officer, we’re going to subdue you,” he added, making it clear that the FBI would stand firmly by law enforcement partners, ensuring that those who assault or obstruct officers face the full weight of legal repercussions.

Patel noted the heightened morale among police forces, mentioning they feel energized by the federal support. “They know that if they are physically harmed, criminals cannot get away with it,” he said. His message was direct: they would not hesitate to locate and arrest offenders.

Addressing the ongoing climate of protest, he clarified, “We’re not saying you can’t go out and protest peacefully. We’re just stating you can’t interfere with their lawful duties.” This comes amid a record rise in violence against federal employees, particularly since the previous administration’s immigration policies were implemented.

In a previous statement on social media, Patel had echoed similar sentiments, reinforcing the commitment to protecting law enforcement. He had drawn a clear line: “If you hit a cop, you go to jail… it doesn’t matter where you’re from, how you got here, or what movement speaks to you.”

The FBI has yet to respond to requests for further comments on this issue.
