FBI’s Operation Against the Latin Kings
The FBI has executed a three-month undercover campaign against the Latin Kings, resulting in the arrest of 50 gang members and the seizure of money, drugs, and properties across 13 locations. Officials view this as a significant move in their ongoing fight against gang violence, especially after notable successes in dismantling MS-13 and Torren de Aragua.
FBI Director Kash Patel reported that around 50 members of the Latin Kings were apprehended, and during the operation, dubbed Operation Broken Clown, authorities confiscated $200,000 in assets and about 10 kilograms of drugs.
In discussing the operation, Patel noted that it involved numerous FBI field offices and collaboration with various federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. He emphasized the commitment of the FBI, stating that under President Trump and Attorney General Bondi’s leadership, they are making headway against violent gang networks, ultimately aiming to save lives.
Patel also pointed out that during the first year of Trump’s second term, FBI busts of MS-13 and Torren de Aragua increased by 210 percent. This latest focus on the Latin Kings arose after threats were made against law enforcement by gang members last October.
In a separate incident in Minnesota, officials arrested a gang member charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm after he was caught breaking into an FBI vehicle and stealing a rifle. A video captured this occurrence, clearly showing gang tattoos on the individual.
Additionally, four Latin Kings members were arrested in another FBI operation targeting drug trafficking and firearms. This led to a seizure of over $120,000 in illegal cash.
These arrests reflect what federal authorities describe as a national effort to dismantle the country’s most dangerous transnational gangs. Operation Broken Clown contributes to an unprecedented year of gang enforcement actions, with the FBI continuing its focus on groups involved in drug trafficking and intimidation tactics against law enforcement across various states.
Officials involved in these efforts have made it clear that the pressure on these organizations will continue until they are completely dismantled. As further investigations and operations progress into 2026, leaders in law enforcement believe the momentum of these collaborative actions is reshaping the approach to combating violent gang activity nationwide.
