Suspect Identified in Assault on Federal Officer in LA Protest
Attorney General Pam Bondy announced on Monday that law enforcement has identified a suspect in the assault of a federal officer during an anti-ICE protest in Los Angeles. This suspect was sought after the FBI initially offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to his capture, following an incident where he allegedly injured a federal official by throwing a rock.
In a live appearance on “Hannity,” Bondy revealed to host Sean Hannity that the FBI had successfully identified the man, known as Reyes, and that a search warrant was being executed at his residence. “The man has just been identified… His name is Reyes,” Bondy stated.
She further emphasized the dedicated efforts of law enforcement, declaring, “You can run, you can’t hide. We’re coming after you.” According to Bondy, any attacks on officers or acts of vandalism during protests won’t go unpunished.
Bondy highlighted that individuals who engage in such activities, like looting businesses, could face significant prison time—up to 20 years. She quoted President Trump, adding, “Like he said, ‘You spit, we hit.’ If you assault an officer, you will be charged.” She urged people to think twice before attacking law enforcement.
Details of the incident revealed that, on Saturday around 3:30 p.m., the identified suspect allegedly threw a rock at a law enforcement vehicle in Paramount, California, injuring federal officials and damaging government property.
The FBI has classified the suspect as armed and dangerous in their wanted poster. FBI Director Kash Patel warned on Saturday night, “If you attack a law enforcement officer, you’re going to jail—period.” He also reassured that the FBI would stand behind law enforcement if local authorities failed to do so.
