FBI looks into sexual assault claims on Carnival Breeze cruise ship

FBI Investigating Sexual Assault on Carnival Cruise Ship

The FBI is looking into claims of sexual assault occurring on a Carnival cruise ship.

An FBI spokesperson informed Khou 11 that this incident took place aboard the Carnival Breeze, which is based in Galveston, Texas, during a cruise returning to Galveston on Monday.

“FBI Houston is aware of allegations involving sexual assault that happened on the Carnival Breeze cruise ship docked in Galveston on July 28, 2010,” the spokesperson stated. “As is standard procedure for crimes on cruise ships, the FBI Maritime Liaison Agent at the Texas City Resident Agency is working with the US Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, and cruise lines to address the issue.”

The Carnival Breeze cruise, which stopped at Cozumel, Mexico, is noted in this context.

Investigations into Other Incidents

Additionally, the FBI is examining deaths on another Galveston-based ship, the Carnival Dream. A representative from the FBI Houston mentioned that this incident occurred on July 23.

According to the spokesperson, it’s common practice for the FBI to investigate deaths that happen on cruise vessels.

“This routine protocol ensures transparency. It doesn’t automatically imply anything suspicious, and the circumstances in this case do not indicate such a situation. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of our guests during this challenging time,” the spokesperson added.

Khou reported that the Galveston County Medical Inspector’s office has determined that 48-year-old Euvelester Villarreal Jr. passed away due to natural causes.

Fox News Digital reached out to both the FBI and Carnival for further comments.
