While questions surrounding the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, remain unanswered, former FBI whistleblower and agent Steve Friend has some theories.
“We have not heard any satisfactory reports from the FBI or Secret Service regarding the assassination attempt.” Glenn Beck Tell that to a friend who knows why.
“I think one of the most disturbing elements that hasn’t been addressed is that FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate has said that they will be investigating this as a domestic terrorism case,” Friend explains.
That may seem reasonable to the average American, but Friend understands all too well what it means.
“The FBI is going to classify this investigation, but they’re not going to be transparent because they don’t need to know,” he told Glenn, pointing out how troubling the new allegations that a Pakistani national is plotting to assassinate Trump are.
“This is what I call the ‘playbook’ that the FBI has been running for the last 25 years, and especially since 9/11,” he explained, adding: “To justify their existence as a bureaucratic organization licking at their own ice cream cone, they identify people who are vulnerable, who are emotionally disturbed, who may have radical intent but who don’t have the capacity to carry out an actual attack without the FBI’s involvement.”
The FBI would then use confidential sources and undercover agents to nurture these vulnerable individuals for as long as necessary before they would engage in activity that would be deemed terrorist activity.
“The bigger problem here is they brought this Pakistani across the border and sponsored his arrival. It was the FBI’s Dallas office that actually signed off on his arrival,” Friend told Glenn, adding, “They tracked him down and orchestrated this plot that never could have happened without government involvement.”
“We are currently investigating terrorists and trying to justify our existence as an agency,” Friend said, agitated. Friend also explained that, according to the FBI, the Pakistani national happened to talk to an informant about hiring a hit man soon after arriving in the United States.
“At the end of the day, the FBI can make up these cases so they can go to Congress and say, ‘Look at the great work we’ve done. Why don’t you give us more funding? Why don’t you give us stronger tools?'” Friend said.
