FBI Prevents Suspected Drone Terror Attack Aimed at White House UFC Freedom 250 Event

FBI Disrupts Planned Drone Attack Targeting UFC Freedom 250 Event

An attempted drone attack meant to target the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House was intercepted by the FBI. This revelation emerged on Tuesday, with five individuals taken into custody.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the foiled plot after it was initially reported by various news outlets.

The scheme reportedly involved explosive-laden drones aimed at the audience and buildings near the event, inciting chaos and driving attendees into the line of fire from pre-positioned sniper teams.

There was even a plan for a “second wave” of attackers to breach the White House gates, according to officials.

The investigation commenced on June 10, when the FBI became aware of the threat and collaborated with local agencies to establish enough evidence for an arrest in Cincinnati, leading to one suspect’s capture. Further inquiry uncovered a Signal chat among multiple individuals discussing the potential attack. An early examination of one suspect’s iPhone indicated that at least 23 Signal users had been involved in these discussions.

It seems some of the involved parties intended to travel to Fredericksburg, Virginia, to prepare for the assault just days later.

A motive for the alleged attack was also unveiled, with one suspect reportedly indicating a desire to target “capitalist elites” and politicians linked to donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

The FBI’s investigation included contributions from at least 12 different field offices.

Director Patel expressed gratitude for the successful intervention in a statement, noting the coordinated efforts of local law enforcement partners. He emphasized the FBI’s commitment to protecting citizens, especially during major events like the UFC fight.

While the outcome highlighted effective investigative work, Patel remarked that it was simply routine for the dedicated team, designed to respond to threats against the public.
