The FBI searched several properties, including a home associated with Oakland Mayor Shen Tao, on Thursday, one day after a recall effort to remove him from office gathered enough signatures to get on the November ballot.
“The FBI is conducting court-authorized law enforcement operations on Maiden Lane,” an FBI spokesperson told Fox News Digital. “We cannot provide any further information.”
Property records show Thao is associated with an address at 80 Maiden Lane in Oakland, California, but she does not appear to own the property.

“But with the news today that the FBI searched her home, I think it’s going to make the campaign easier,” Scott said. “This is going to be a very serious issue. I think it’s going to expose a lot of things in the city of Oakland.”
FBI agents also searched 4320 View Crest Court, a property linked to Andy Duong, co-owner of California Waste Solutions. FOX 40 reported.
The recycling company had previously been reported to have been under investigation over its election contributions to Tao. Auckland side.
The FBI also reportedly conducted a search at 1211 Embarcadero Way in Oakland, which is home to the headquarters of California Waste Solutions Inc. and the Vietnamese American Business Association (VABA), an organization run by the Duong family that led a U.S. business delegation that included the mayor to Vietnam last year.
Fox News Digital has reached out to California Waste Solutions, VABA and Duong for comment.
