The FBI searched the homes of two senior members of New York City Mayor Eric Adams' (Democratic) administration on Wednesday morning. POLITICO Revealed.
Multiple sources told the outlet that both the Manhattan townhouse of New York City First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and the Queens single-family home of Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Philip Banks were searched as part of the investigation into Adams' 2021 campaign.
The mayor himself received a grand jury subpoena in July after law enforcement seized his electronic devices in November 2023 for allegedly conspiring with foreign governments, including the government of Turkey. POLITICO Reported.
Banks and Wright aren't just connected through a mutual boss: The city's superintendent, David Banks, is the brother of a public safety official and the lover of the first deputy mayor.
According to sources spoke The homes were attacked simultaneously at about 5 a.m., the newspaper said.
When asked about the search, David Banks told the outlet, “It's the first day of school and we're very excited.”
Sources also told the media that electronic devices of both officials had been seized.
Banks and Wright were not the only two of Adams' associates whose homes were searched by the federal government.
