FBI stops an alleged plan involving drones and snipers aimed at UFC Freedom 250

FBI discloses supposed plan to target White House UFC event along with other major news stories

First appearance on Fox: The FBI, in collaboration with local law enforcement, has disrupted a suspected plot aimed at this weekend’s UFC Freedom 250 event in Washington, D.C., as reported by officials.

As of Monday, five individuals were detained, and 23 others were identified in connection to a possible conspiracy. The planned attack allegedly involved using drones equipped with explosives to strike nearby buildings, resulting in mass evacuations and guiding crowds toward designated sniper units.

Officials further indicated there were intentions for a “second wave” to forcefully breach the White House gates.

The FBI became aware of the threat on June 10 and coordinated with other agencies to obtain probable cause for an arrest in Cincinnati, which led to one suspect being apprehended.

The U.S. Secret Service stated that it “worked closely” with the FBI throughout the investigation.

Secret Service Director Sean Curran expressed gratitude for the cooperative efforts in securing accountability, mentioning how special agents, support staff, and security teams were actively monitoring the situation leading up to the event.

During the investigation, agents found a chat on Signal where multiple individuals allegedly discussed plans to target a UFC event. An initial review of one suspect’s iPhone suggested that at least 23 users had engaged in conversations regarding their activities ahead of the operation.

Some conspirators reportedly intended to travel to Fredericksburg, Virginia, in preparation for the attack on June 12 or 13.

One suspect allegedly informed investigators that the intention was to target “capitalist elites,” “billionaires,” or politicians associated with donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

This investigation involved assistance from at least 12 FBI field offices.

FBI Director Kash Patel commended the quick response from the Bureau, the DOJ, and other law enforcement agencies as they prevented the alleged attack.

“Thanks to the rapid actions of the FBI and our partners, multiple suspects are in custody, and this attack was thwarted,” Patel stated, emphasizing the FBI’s capability to respond to emerging threats effectively.

He noted that the operation showcased best investigative practices, underscoring their commitment to ensuring public safety, particularly during significant events like UFC Freedom 250.

The alleged conspiracy was centered around a prominent event at the White House, coinciding with President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday weekend, which attracted around 4,300 attendees, including roughly 1,200 active-duty military personnel.

Vice President J.D. Vance commented on the incident during “FOX & Friends,” describing it as “very, very dark content.” He pointed out that violent rhetoric often leads to aggressive behavior, urging for a more measured discourse in political discussions.

He also suggested that his Democratic colleagues should reflect on the current state of political violence, implying that introspection is needed across party lines.

The alleged plot highlights ongoing threats directed at President Trump and high-ranking officials from his administration, which has raised alarms about possible political violence.
