FBI Cracks Down on Latin Kings Gang
The FBI revealed on Friday that they have arrested close to 50 members and associates of the notorious Latin Kings street gang. This action comes after a broad, multi-state initiative aimed at tackling gang-related activities, drug trafficking, and the intimidation of law enforcement officers.
The operation, named Operation Broken Clown, has been underway for three months and involves over a dozen FBI field offices. They are collaborating with federal, state, local, and tribal partners to address the Latin Kings’ criminal conduct nationwide, aligning with the current administration’s efforts to combat violent gangs.
Since the start of the operation last October, authorities have confiscated more than a dozen firearms, nearly $200,000 in illegal funds, and over 10 kilograms of cocaine, fentanyl, and other drugs. FBI Director Kash Patel highlighted the urgency of the FBI’s mission, stating that efforts under the leadership of President Trump and Attorney General Bondi have dismantled criminal gang networks at an unprecedented pace.
Describing the rise in gang-related incidents, Patel mentioned that there was a staggering 210% increase in arrests related to MS-13 and the Torren de Aragua gang in the previous year. With the new year around the corner, he announced further plans for additional arrests in the coming months.
Patel reassured that the FBI remains relentless in its operations against violent crime, and it’s continually working to dismantle networks that threaten public safety.
In an alarming incident, members of the Latin Kings made explicit threats against law enforcement in October 2025, which led to their eventual arrests. Additionally, another alleged member was recently charged in Minnesota with felony firearm possession after breaking into an FBI vehicle and stealing a rifle.
Moreover, another individual from the Latin Kings was sentenced to 21 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to methamphetamine distribution related to an FBI investigation in Indianapolis.
In a different initiative in January, the FBI’s Milwaukee Area Safe Streets Task Force executed multiple search warrants, leading to the arrests of four Latin Kings members on drug trafficking and firearm charges. This operation resulted in the seizure of 10 firearms and more than $120,000 in illicit cash.
Following these actions, the FBI subsequently arrested two additional gang members linked to that incident and recovered a rifle modified for rapid fire and a pistol.
