On Tuesday, the FCC rejected CBS’s attempt to quickly dismiss complaints from conservative organizations regarding a “60 Minutes” interview with Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris shortly before the election.
The program faced backlash from the American Rights Center and then-presidential candidate Donald Trump for airing some of Harris’ responses to questions about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and another segment regarding “Face the Nation.”
He easily secured the Vice Presidency and is suing CBS for $20 billion, alleging that “60 Minutes” conducted the interview to interfere in the election.
FCC Chair Brendan Kerr remarked, “In my opinion, we are not in a position to dismiss the complaint at this stage.”
FCC Chair Brendan Kerr dismissed this notion and informed Reuters on Tuesday that the investigation is still active. “We are not approaching my view at this point in a position to dismiss the complaint,” he stated.

The FCC is investigating whether the broadcasts breach “news distortion” regulations. While the agency cannot censor or infringe on the media’s fundamental right to amend, broadcasters must not intentionally misrepresent news.
Poor news for CBS.
