Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Chairman Martin Grunberg announced Monday that he is resigning following an external investigation into workplace harassment and misconduct.

“In light of recent events, I am prepared to step down from my role once a successor has been appointed,” Gruenberg said in a statement Monday. according to On CNN. “Until then, I will continue to fulfill my responsibilities as Chair of the FDIC, including transforming the FDIC’s workplace culture.”

The alleged rape was reported to the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office on February 17, 2017, and is cited on page 111 of the report, according to an exclusive Daily Caller News Foundation article in March.
“FDIC employees at all levels care deeply about and are proud of the agency’s mission to maintain the stability of our nation’s financial system and the public’s confidence,” the report said. “They have the right to, and demand, a workplace free of sexual harassment, discrimination, and interpersonal misconduct. But far too many of us don’t have that. Over 500 people have asked for a workplace free of sexual harassment, discrimination, and interpersonal misconduct. They bravely called the line and often shared painful and emotional accounts of their experiences of sexual harassment, discrimination, and other interpersonal misconduct at the FDIC.
The report cited sexual harassment and stalking of employees, homophobic comments, members of “underrepresented groups” being referred to as “token” employment, and ridicule of employees with disabilities. It details a number of incidents that occurred. The report also said “fear of reprisal” was prevalent within the authorities and further incidents may have gone unreported.
Gruenberg was criticized in the report for some of his interactions with agency employees.
The report said, “Many FDIC employees, including senior executives, were aware of that reputation and also reported instances in which Chairman Gruenberg lost his temper and treated employees in a humiliating and inappropriate manner.” It is said that
