The chief of FDNY's EMS Operations Michael Fields is under investigation, and sources told the Post about the increased outbreak of his wife's office or the recent handling of drunken arrests.
Agents from the Bureau of Investigation went to FDNY headquarters in Brooklyn this month and copied Fields' FDNY phone and computer data, officials confirmed.
Fields, 52, who was not in the building at the time, claimed last week that he “had no contact with anyone from the Ministry of Investigation.”
“I have no further comments on these false rumors that seem to depend on hurting my reputation,” he said in an email.
Some sources speculated that the probe could involve promotion of his wife, Niccola's Combsfield (51), or that it was linked to her recent DUI arrest.

FDNY suspended comb fields for 28 days without wages after its arrest last fall.
The case is still pending.
She is under investigation by the FDNY Investigation Bureau, an insider confirmed.
Combsfield was promoted from vice-center to captain on January 14th, 2024. Laura Cabana appointed her husband to the top post January 20th, 2023.
The EMS chief was “not involved” in the captain's promotion process, an FDNY official said. The candidates are “on the promotional list based on interviews, education and experience.”
Three EMS staff and equal employment opportunities staff will conduct interviews.
Combs-Fields won $108,446 in salary last year.
She could not be reached for comment.
FDNY officials confirmed that Michael Fields, who earned $259,485 last year, was the subject of a DOI “inquiry” but did not explain why.
“Everyone is touching on it very tightly,” the insider said.
An FDNY official said Field was “not removed” from his post and “he remains in his duties as EMS chief.”
FDNY referred the inquiry to DOI and declined to comment.
Fields is a 28-year veteran.
