Federal agents driven from St. Paul Mexican eatery by upset customers

On Sunday, federal agents had to exit a Mexican restaurant in St. Paul, Minnesota, after customers began shouting for them to leave. Video footage captured the agents navigating through Cancun’s Mexican Grill and Cantina while frustrated patrons yelled insults and recorded the scene on their phones.

One man could be heard asking, “What’s wrong with you guys?” Another followed up with a particularly harsh comment, suggesting, “No wonder you have to wear a mask.”

A customer even questioned whether the agents had permission to be there, noting that the restaurant staff wanted them to leave. While federal immigration agents can enter public business areas without consent, they can’t access private spaces like kitchens or offices without a warrant.

Amid the chaos, a woman yelled at the agents, “Please take off your mask!”

As the agents left, the crowd intensified their protests, with several patrons gesturing obscenities and hurling phrases like, “Get the hell out of here,” and “You damn Nazi.” The situation also reflects growing tensions across the nation, especially following the recent shooting death of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by ICE agents in Minneapolis.

DHS officials claimed Good had attempted to run over an ICE officer while obstructing their operation, which reportedly caused serious internal injuries. In response to the shooting, many Democrats condemned the agents’ actions, labeling her death as “murder.” As usual, DHS has not provided immediate comments on the incident.
